Cotton Candy Machine Instructions

1. Moisten the bowl with a damp cloth to help the floss stick. Fencing should be attached to bowl using metal clips provided. |
2. Once fencing is attached, the bowl is ready to be put on the base. |
3. Loosen wing nuts on both sides of the base so the motor won’t vibrate during use. |
4. When both wing nuts are loose, the screws will be down far enough to rest the bowl on the base without wobbling. |
5. Base will rest on machine without wobbling. Plug cord into a standard 3 prong 120 volt receptacle with a third wire ground. DO NOT USE AN EXTENSION CORD TO PLUG INTO A WALL. This may cause the fuses to blow. |
6. With motor off, fill floss head about 90% full with the floss sugar. Never add sugar to the unit while motor is running. Level out the sugar. |
7. Place guard on bowl using built in clips. Guard is used for protection against wind and germs. |
8. Start motor. |
9. Turn on the heat switch. |
10. Turn the control knob clockwise to “Hi” for quick heating. Unit will start to make floss in a matter of seconds. If unit starts to smoke, turn the control knob back a little until it stops smoking. |
| 11. After following the operating instructions, you are ready to begin making floss. Pay attention to the direction of the floss as it is spun off the floss head. It should be thrown against and adhere to the side of the floss pan. (Attached to the top plate of the spinner are two floaters. These give additional air current for the floss control. Twisting the lead edge of the floaters up will give more lift and the floss will go upward, twisting down, the floss will go down.) | 12. To pick up floss, hold the cone in your fingers a couple of inches from the end and with a flicking motion break into the floss that has built up on the side of the pan, rotate the cone in your fingers and the floss will now build up on the cone. Make sure you lift the cone up out of the pan a little so that the new floss being made will not stick to your cone. |
| 13. To stop operations for the day: It is necessary to run all of the sugar out of the head. When empty, turn the control knob up to high for approximately one minute to remove carbon from the heating ribbon. NEVER ALLOW WATER TO ENTER THE FLOSS HEAD. A damp cloth will be sufficient to wipe off the floss head after use. Always be sure to pull the electrical plug from the wall before doing any maintenance on the unit. Be sure all parts are clean and dry before starting up the operation again. | 14. DO NOT PUSH ANY OBJECTS INTO THE FLOSS HEAD. Damage to unit will be at the expense of the persons renting the unit. |
15. Tighten up the wing nuts on top of the unit so the motor will not be damaged during transportation. |
